Transit Bus

NIACOG Emblem

Worth County Transit is operated through contract with North Iowa Area Council of Governments and dispatched through Worth County Public Health.  We are the county and Manly City transit services.

The transit covers all communities in Worth County.  We work throughout region II.  This includes Worth, Winnebago, Mitchell and Cerro Gordo Counties.  Other destinations can be arranged through linkage with other transit providers within the region.  The Public Health Office will schedule the linkage for the client on request.  The bus is available for any trip reason and all age groups.  This can include medical, social, shopping, dining, work, school or college transports.  Infants and small children need to supply their own car seat to be secured.  We request that we know 24 hours in advance of your transportation need.

Ways to get assistance with paying your fares:

  1. Silver Advantage tickets are free (register with a simple card application) to use for any medical reason within the Mercy Network or to providers that are not part of the Mercy Network but are not offered through the Mercy Network such as a dentist.  You do need to be 60 or over to use these and you can't consider your residenca a nursing home or assisted living facility.
  2. Cancer tickets are also free and provided upon request at the Mercy Cancer Center.  There is no age restriction on these tickets.
  3. Waiver clients that have a case manager and transportation as part of their overall service plan may ride at no cost.  We would need a notice of decision from your case manager to enable us to provide this service.
  4. TMS is relatively new to NIACOG.  It allows Medicaid eligible individuals free transport. You need to call 866-572-7662 to register and make appointments.  This will not work for same day appointment schedules.  You need t provide 72 hours of advance notice to be served.
  5. Lake Mills Clinic (Albert Lea Medical Center) will also pay for transportation to their facility for any medical appointment.

Chartered services are available through prior arrangements.  The fee is $40.00 per hour.
